    What to expect: Fully equipped for pleasing children, the resort attracts families with its casual atmosphere and multiple water attractions.

    Amenity highlights: The resort's 21 water attractions include two outdoor complexes containing a 200-foot lazy river, four swimming pools, two children's pools, and two spa tubs. Two indoor complexes contain a 200-foot lazy river, two swimming pools, a children's pool, a toddlers' pool, and four spa tubs. An indoor/outdoor complex contains a 220-foot lazy river curling around a six-person spa tub and a children's pool. Sunning lawns line the 720-foot beach frontage.

    Insider tip: A beach center one-half mile from the resort offers a variety of water sports, including personal watercraft and parasailing.

    Property Amenities
    During summer, the resort offers complimentary, supervised children's indoor and outdoor activities, with surcharges for certain arts and crafts and for a weekly pizza night. A game room in the Pinnacle Building includes coin-operated video games. The Pinnacle Building also provides women's and men's saunas. An air-conditioned fitness center contains cardio machines and a Universal gym. A kiosk in the Pinnacle Building supplies high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Both the Pinnacle and Schooner buildings include coin-operated laundry facilities, with those in the 15-story Pinnacle Building available on every other floor beginning with the fourth.

    The resort offers 531 guestrooms and suites. Rooms are located in the four-and-five-story Schooner Building, which has exterior corridors. Suites are located in the 15-story Pinnacle Building. Both buildings, which are situated side-by-side, include water attractions, laundry rooms, and other facilities that are available to all resort guests. Decor features light-colored wood furniture and tropically colored fabrics. In-room safes are available for a modest daily surcharge.

    Crow's Nest - Casual restaurant and bar located on second floor of Pinnacle Building. Ocean-view dining room and open-air deck with umbrella tables. Overstuffed leather seating around large-screen television. Lunch/dinner menu of sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, fried foods, tropical drinks. Open daily from late morning to late evening.

    Compass Rose - Air-conditioned dining room serving buffet and à la carte breakfast daily.

    Beach Bar - Located adjacent to outdoor pools near the beach. Open in summer for burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, tropical drinks.

    Recreation
    The resort features 21 water attractions. An outdoor pool complex extending along the resort's beachfront adjacent to the Schooner Building includes sundecks furnished with lounge chairs and umbrella tables, two shuffleboard courts, palm trees, and hedges bordering and interspersing the pools. The complex comprises a 200-foot lazy river with tubes; two pools, one measuring 50 by 20 feet and the other 40 by 15 feet; and a children's pool.

    On the street side of the Schooner Building, a solarium contains a 60-by-20-foot indoor pool, two four-person spa tubs; a children's pool with mushroom-shaped shower; and a 200-foot lazy river with tubes.

    At the Pinnacle Building are two outdoor pools, one measuring 40 by 8 feet and the other 50 by 8 feet; a 15-foot-long outdoor children's pool with a mushroom-shaped shower; an eight-person outdoor spa tub; and a 10-person outdoor spa tub. Indoors is a 50-by-15-foot pool, a toddlers' pool, an eight-person spa tub, and a 12-person spa tub. Behind a glass front that's removed in summer are an indoor/outdoor 220-foot lazy river curling around a six-person spa tub and a children's pool with mushroom-shaped shower.

    Arrayed along 720 feet of beach frontage, the resort includes sunning lawns furnished with lounge chairs and provides direct beach access over wooden stairs that protect fragile beach grasses. Cabanas and chairs can be rented on the beach. A water sports center a half-mile south of the resort offers a wide variety of rental equipment, including personal watercraft and windsurfers, and books parasailing flights and banana boat rides.

    The resort's golf department arranges tee times at all of the Myrtle Beach area's 120 golf courses.
